Hispanic students vanish from Alabama schools…

October 1, 2011

So according to this article from Yahoo News, in Birmingham, Alabama some of the Hispanic students have began to stop attending school. This happened ever since the state decided to enforce the law (illegal immigration laws). Apparently the parents are keeping them home “afraid that sending the kids to school would draw attention from authorities.”

This would mean that, they’re afraid that the state might enforce the law? Wow..

However, an anonymous school worker, because she wasn’t a  authorized spokeswoman, in Albertville tried to make a sob story for the media. She says that a large amount of Latino people “many families might leave town over the weekend”. However, the thing that I noticed was that she said that they were leaving “for other states”. They’re not going to their home country, but other states? This is interesting to me. They decide just to change states. hmmm.

This is the sob story part. She also said “I met a Hispanic mother in the hallway at our community learning center this morning, where enrollment and withdrawal happens. She looked at me with tears in her eyes. I asked, ‘Are you leaving?’ She said ‘Yes,’ and hugged me, crying.”

I am sorry. I don’t really wish to say you can’t be here, but that’s why its called ILegal immigration. So, you can’t be here. I invite you to become a citizen!

Shockingly enough, “The Obama administration filed court documents Friday announcing its plans to appeal the ruling that upheld the law.”
