Supporters of the bill, which makes it a felony to abort a medically viable fetus 20 weeks or more into a pregnancy, call it a common-sense solution to moral issues raised by late-term abortions. But critics say it creates an arbitrary, unscientific cut-off point that further erodes abortion rights.
I am for this bill. Now, you may be saying, He’s a conservative. They don’t want government intrusion into our lives. That is true. However, this is not government intrusion into our lives, but the protection of the basic human right, life. Thus, it is not intrusion if it is protection. People may say it is not a human and thus it is government intrusion, I do not believe so. This issue will never be solved. There will always be those who want to murder babies, and those to protect them.
