FOX Sports Rejects Super Bowl Ad About John 3:16
On post at The Christian Post, it told that the commercial by Fixed Point Foundation was rejected because it had too much, “religious doctrine,”
The executive director of Fixed Point Foundation, Larry Taunton, said that “[The commercial] was deemed to be too offensive,”.
My favorite part had to be that there was no preaching. It was not like a commercial of a man sitting in a chair talking to you about Jesus. It just asks, “John 3:16, what’s that mean?” Then, the other man says, “I’ll look it up.” It then leads you to the site.
However, there are other examples of racy commercials that were accepted:
In 2007, Snickers aired the “Snickers Kiss” during the Super Bowl. The commercial featured two men who end up kissing after eating a Snickers bar from opposite ends. The video was later pulled after an uproar from viewers.
This year, Doritos introduced two gay-themed ads for the Super Bowl. One features a husband appearing to eye two homosexual men eating from a bag of Doritos chips. The other shows two bare-chested men sitting in a sauna. One of the man then reaches down into a Doritos bag that is off camera. The result is sexually suggestive. There is no word whether or not the ads were accepted.
The 2007 commercial was put into the super bowl, and the Doritos one is being introduced, but Taunton says this about the new commercials:
“That’s deemed OK. [But the 3:16 commercial] is deemed controversial,” Taunton argued.
I have to agree with Taunton. A commercial featuring two gay men is accepted, but a commercial that just includes, “John 3:16, what’s that mean?” is rejected? What is the world coming to?

Huh? This one was in the super bowl.
I just saw it:
